What areas do you run?
Wil-Trans runs all 48 states, no Mexico, Canada, or NYC.
What type of equipment do you have?
We run a new and updated fleet of Peterbilt 579s and Freightliner Cascadia Evolutions. All trucks are 2016 or newer. See our equipment page for specific details about each truck model.
Do the trucks have APUs?
Yes, all of our trucks come with APUs, Epic Vue Satellite TV, a 24" Samsung TV, and 1500 watt inverters.
What states do you hire out of?
We hire out of all lower 48 states.
Where are your terminals located?
Wil-Trans is located in Springfield, MO and we have a local operation in the Dallas, TX area. Our sister company, Jim Palmer Trucking, is located in Missoula, MT.
What types of positions do your offer?
We are always looking to hire experienced OTR drivers (minimum of 12 recent months of OTR driving required). In addition, we offer local positions in Springfield, MO and the Dallas, TX area. Our sister company, Jim Palmer Trucking offers North West regional positions as well. Call our recruiting office for more details on any of our positions.
How long are Wil-Trans drivers out?
Generally, our OTR drivers are out for 3-4 weeks at a time.
What bonuses and incentives does Wil-Trans offer their drivers?
Wil-Trans offers a fuel bonus paid on every trip, every week. We also offer a monthly safety bonus and a $10,000 longevity bonus for every five years you work with the company.
How long is orientation?
Experienced driver orientation is two-and-a-half days. It begins on Tuesday morning and ends on Thursday afternoon. Drivers typically roll out in their new truck either Thursday evening or Friday morning after orientation.
I have years of experience, what is my starting pay as a company driver?
We start all new drivers at a base pay of .40 cpm with the ability to earn up to an additional .05 cpm through our fuel incentive program. Company drivers in our OTR fleet average .42-.43 cpm.
What types of freight do you haul?
Our freight is mostly temperature-controlled, no-touch freight. We have live loads and unloads in addition to drop and hook loads.
What can I earn as a company driver?
On average, company drivers take home $900-$1,100 weekly.
What can I earn as a lease operator?
On average, our lease operators take home $1,200-$1,500 weekly (after all fixed expenses and truck note are paid).
What is the weekly truck payment for a lease operator?
Weekly truck payment for lease operators is $995.00
How long is the lease?
Our lease-to-own is structured as a 5 year, no money down, no credit check, walkaway lease. Our lease-only program is a 3 year lease.
Do you have a load board to choose your own loads?
No, you will work directly with your in-house fleet manager. They will provide you with the best possible utilization and paying load.
Do you require hazmat endorsements?
No, we do not.
Is Wil-Trans owned by PRIME Inc.?
No, Wil-Trans is an independently-owned trucking company running under its own authority. Our advanced fleet does utilize the large PRIME Inc. network of nationwide refrigerated freight.
Do you have a pet or rider program?
Yes, we have a friendly pet and rider program. Riders need to be over the age of 10. Our pet program has no breed restrictions and no pet deposit.
